And Other Stories is a personal storytelling show/open mic, a mini craft fair and a karaoke night with KJ Ruby all wrapped up into one unforgettable monthly event! Our featured storyteller is Becky Chan!!

Becky Chan:
Uncharted Path – Becky Chan emigrated with her family from Hong Kong at 14. She did all kinds of stuff since arrival but retired from the FBI in 2007 after 22 years as a Special Agent. She is the second female Chinese-American FBI agent in the Bureau. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, volunteering, and telling stories.

The pre-booked open mic spots are open and depending on time there may be more lottery spots at the door!

And Other Stories is produced and hosted by Danielle K.L. Gregoire, former producer of the Moth storySLAM, and founder of the Comedy Womb (now the Comedy Nest)

$10 suggested donation, no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

And Other Stories is a true, personal storytelling open mic with no theme, 12 open mic spots of 6 minutes each, and a featured performer at the beginning of each show.

Sharing our stories is the way we build community and connect with each other.

What is a personal, true story?

This is a story that has happened to you. A story that has changed you, that one you find yourself telling over and over to your friends. At …And Other Stories our stories are told and not read. It can be funny, sad, a mix of all the feelings. It should be 6-7 minutes in length.

HOW TO TELL YOUR STORY:

You can sign up in advance for one of 6 advance spots by emailing [email protected]il.com with the subject: Story Sign Up March 8th

Or come down and put your name in the lottery for one of the remaining spots.

Stories should follow the inclusive space model and abide by these guidelines. No racism, misogyny, transphobia, homophobia, able-ism, or fat-phobia.

How to sign up to be a craft/art vendor:
Send and email to [email protected] with some enthusiasm for your art! Never done this before? That’s okay! Let’s figure it out together! Seasoned crafter? We’d love your experience! No cost to the crafter, we are just happy to have you!
