Foundation’s Tough Conversations: Negotiating Like a Boss
Let’s face it, for many of us negotiating is UNCOMFORTABLE.
We don’t want to be labeled as stingy, pushy, or demanding, but we do want to earn what we’re worth. Tack on nuances like race, culture, gender, structural power, and relational dynamics and we’ve got ourselves a doozy. How do we navigate such complex territory?
I’ll give you a hint: Negotiation is never a win/lose deal.
By negotiating with confidence you are actually caring for the needs of both parties. I repeat CONFIDENCE = CARE. With this simple truth, real life practice, and a few ninja warrior conversation skills you’ll leave knowing that you can get what you want and without being a jerk. You can, and should, negotiate like a #boss.
