Jack Horner – Dinosaurs: more birdlike than ever imagined!

Jack Horner, real life adventure paleontologist, lives out many of our dinosaur-filled childhood dreams. He joins us for a special lecture with the latest research claiming dinosaurs are more birdlike than we ever imagined.

His career as a paleontologist is studded with exciting discoveries, including the first dinosaur eggs found in the Western Hemisphere. Horner has devoted his life to uncovering the history and genealogy of dinosaurs, specializes in dinosaur evolution and ecology, and pioneered the now widely-accepted theory that birds are dinosaurs’ present-day descendants. Join us as Horner helps redefine our conception of these primordial animals and helps us understand his assertion that “birds act an awful lot more like dinosaurs than we ever thought they did.”

Jack Horner is the Regent’s Professor of Paleontology Emeritus at Montana State University, Presidential Fellow at Chapman University, and Research Associate at the University of Washington’s Burke Museum.

Horner is widely credited as the inspiration for the character of Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park.
