Science for Curious Simpletons: Astronomy in the Planetarium

Have you ever looked up at the night’s sky in complete awe and wonder?!?

Foundation and PacSci are excited to announce a new event series: “Science for Curious Simpletons”.

These fun science classes will be hosted in different venues throughout Seattle and will feature local scientists teaching the ins and outs of their fields of study. Get ready to learn some amazing things about our world and universe!!

What makes this first “Science for Curious Simpletons” so special, is that we will be hosting it at Pacific Science Center’s Planetarium and will be tying it into PacSci’s annual Science of Spirits extravaganza!

So to start this evening of science, we will begin at the Planetarium and be guided through our astronomical journey by Dave Cuomo, a NASA Solar System Ambassador and a reoccurring guest on KING 5.

Following that, we will join the rest of the party for an exploration into the science behind the spirits we enjoy so often. In collaboration with local makers, PacSci is offering a night to discuss the distilling process and discover the science behind spirits with those that make them in our community!

Your ticket includes the opening Foundation meetup, a guided planetarium show from , and best of all, an entire evening of spirits tasting that includes local distillers:

3 Howls Distillery
Blackfish Spirits
Cadée Distillery
Copperworks Distilling
Glass Vodka Distillery
Rolling River Spirits
Salish Sea Organic Liqueurs
Scratch Distillery
Sea Bishop Spirits
Temple Distilling
Woodinville Whiskey Co.
