“…every Cabiri production is ultimately a spiritual journey…” – Seattle P.I.
For over a decade, The Cabiri, a Seattle-based cirque-inspired performance troupe, has explored the dark world between the living and the dead with its annual Ghost Game series.
In INTO THE DARK, their 12th annual Ghost Game performance, the talented troupe presents an entertaining evening of ghastly ghost tales drawn from traditional folklore and mythology – just in time for Halloween.
Musicians Susan Du Mett (vox vespertinus) and Eric Maia (celadon) will provide live accompaniment. Members of Seattle Kokon Taiko will also round out the cast of musicians for the performance. Finish Director David Crellin will also be joining the production in September, to help bring the performance to completion.
This year the event has a special twist: it is the first Ghost Game to be held at their long-awaited new permanent home at 943 NW 50th Street.
Appropriately named Arcadia, the mythological home to satyrs, nymphs, and deities, the space is home training, teaching, and rehearsals for the 12-person group. The Cabiri offer classes in aerial dance, as well as ballet, contemporary dance, aerial classes for all levels, Kurdish drumming and dancing, taiko drumming, and Balkan dancing.
GHOST GAME XII: INT THE DARK is appropriate for audience members 16 years and older. Festive attire is encouraged. Tickets go on sale in September here: www.cabiri.org/posts/ggxii-into-the-dark/
