NOW HERE’S WHAT’S GOING ON IN YOUR CITY 💥

Fish fight. This summer, more than 100,000 Atlantic salmon broke out of a fish farm’s nets and flooded into Puget Sound, threatening our local salmon populations and other endangered marine animals. Now, a senator from Orcas Island is proposing a law that would ban Atlantic salmon net farms in Washington State. Those farms are not pleased. 🎣 (The Seattle Times)

‘The war is far from over.’ After 42 years of serving Seattle’s proud community of geeks, Zanadu Comics will close its downtown shop on January 28, 2018. “We tried to make a place where we wouldn’t just sell comics, but help people find stories that would live with them forever,” the shop owners wrote in a Facebook post. “The battle may be finished, but the war is far from over because like any good super-hero story, there is never an end, just a slow fade out to a new beginning.” You’ll be missed, Zanadu. 😭 (Facebook)

Where to grab post-work eats. Here’s a map of 18 top spots for happy hour in November. Try the “chemistry-inspired” cocktails at Alchemy in West Seattle, or the oyster bar in downtown’s Tankard and Tun. 🍸 (Eater Seattle)

Want to up your ugly sweater game? DIY a hideous masterpiece of your own this weekend ahead of the coming flood of holiday parties. Local craft expert Jenny Cookies is leading a workshop at Value Village on Sunday at 4 p.m. P.S.: When you inevitably Insta those Frankensweaters, be sure to tag us with #theevergrey. (MyBallard)

The most adorable problem. Attention animal lovers: The Seattle Humane Society told us it’s seeing an unusually high number of kittens coming through the shelter for this time of year — and more than 150 kittens will be available for adoption over the next two months. If you’re hoping to give a critter (or two) a forever home, now might be the time. 😻 (Facebook)
