Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt like you’re slogging through Seattle’s winter weather. ✋ You’re not alone, and we’re here to help.
When we recently talked with seasonal affective disorder expert Dr. Tobias Dang, he said something about how to best take advantage of the Seattle winter that stuck with us. His brilliant advice? Make plans.
We want to help you take on the rest of this winter with intention, so we’re launching a project called Embrace the Grey. This project is for those newcomers who’re nervous to admit how much they’re struggling with our dreary days, long-time Seattleites with lots of empathy and good advice to impart, and everyone in-between.

We’re convinced we can all work together to make this time of year a little brighter, even if we can’t change the weather.
Just because grey is, well, grey, doesn’t mean it can’t make for some elegant, mysterious, and captivating photos. Here’s a selection from all of you that show us the best of our everyday shade. 😎
Not bad, huh? And hey — thanks to everyone who’s been tagging #theevergrey in their photos of the city. We love seeing Seattle through your eyes.
