“This was the first time anyone from my team participated,” reader Katayoon Dej-Panah wrote us. Kat and her team — Jessie Hanna, Bekka Spetz, and Jim Spetz started the 24-hour race Friday night and finished on Saturday. “We got about three hours of sleep,” Kat said.
Among Questival’s challenges? Buy someone’s groceries, pick up 50 pieces of trash, stand in front of the Space Needle with peanut butter on your noses, create a Mentos commercial at the Skagit Valley tulip fields, and ask someone what they love about Seattle.
“We talked to a gentleman who was originally from the Midwest and he moved to Seattle 1 year ago,” Kat wrote. “He said he loved the community and how nice people are. He said Seattle folks have been kind and welcoming.”
Way to go, city. Kat and crew finished the race in the top 25 percent of teams and were pretty stoked about that. Just look at those medal-holding grins. ☝ Check out pics from more of your Questival adventures here.
