“As we were gathering everything to leave, we saw this baby seal on the beach,” Kacey wrote. “We, and other beach goers, kept our distance but Alex was able to snap a great photo. Apparently this seal spends some of the evening on the beach while Mama hunts.”

Kacey also had some solid life (and photo) advice: “The composition that best captures an adventure isn’t necessarily the one you set out to shoot,” she wrote. “Life is cool that way.”
