🎮 Painting with cats, video game geekery, and a "mass mind-reading"

NOTHING BUT BLUE SKIES. Even for just a bit before the (non-smoky) grey rolls back in. Thanks for tagging #theevergrey, Morgan!

As we all collectively grumble about the last bits of summer being stolen from us by these smoky grey skies, we appreciated this bit advice from reader Morgan Sullivan.

“What to do when the world and your place in it seem uncertain? When the status quo crumbles and shakes…” Morgan wrote on Instagram. “Breathe. First and foremost. Then remember that all things are made to change. We are but ships on unsteady waters, sailing forever on. 🌀”

Let’s all take a deep breath (hopefully a less smoky one 🤞) and take on this week.

Now let’s help you make some plans …

DOUGH D’OH

On Friday, we mentioned that the über-popular 85ºC Bakery Café chain — a.k.a. the ‘Starbucks of Taiwan’ — is coming to Seattle’s Chinatown-International District in the fall.

If you want to get a preview, you can check out its nearby cafés in Tukwila, Federal Way, and Lynnwood. You won’t, however, find one of their bakeries in Renton, as we told you last week while visions of tartlets and brioche buns danced in our heads. 😣 Thanks to our friend K for the catch!

We’ll see you tomorrow. — The Evergrey
