Let's get together

Whether you love what we’ve got goin’ on here at The Evergrey or have ideas on what we could be doing better, we want to hear from you.

On Friday, May 31, we’re hosting our first members-only gathering to hear from our most avid readers and celebrate this community we’ve created together. We’re calling it a Member Wine Down, and we want you all to be there.

We’ll start things off at Elsom Cellars with a structured activity where we’ll gather your thoughts on all things Evergrey. There will be plenty of time to meet, mingle, and enjoy the sunny patio. Oh, and did we mention wine, cheese, and ice cream? 😋

So bring your plus-ones, your kids, your dogs, and come join us for a fantastic kickoff to summer in Seattle. Not a member yet? Go here to sign up, and then log in to your Evergey account to snag your tickets on the event page. See you there!

Member spotlight: Meet Mario Sawaya

Shout out to new members Kristen L., Jennifer Bischoff, and Wesley McCullough. And now we’re continuing our series on the people who make what we do possible — our supporting members. ❤️

Next up, from Leschi, is Mario Sawaya.

Where in town might people run into you?

South Park. Specifically, a new-ish coffee shop called Resistencia. The owner, Coté, is super inspiring and the shop is aimed at enhancing and maintaining community for the long-time residents. I wish that every business was this intentional!

What made you decide to become a member of The Evergrey?

One word: Local. I have found motivation and comfort in the focus on local topics that I care about. I can read it in the morning, and experience it firsthand throughout my day. I love that!

What local business do you think deserves a shoutout?

Hands down, Yalla Seattle in Capitol Hill. As a Palestinian-American myself, it’s some legit Arabic food! This place is also a good example of a non-Arab owned establishment serving Palestinian food with honor and grace.

What’s a local event you went to recently that you loved?

The Seattle Erotic Art Festival. What a great place for people to express themselves in different ways. Talk about authenticity!
