🏌 Just remember: It’s all in the hips

Today’s how-to

Golf has never been more controversial than now here in Seattle, so we figured it’s a good time to get out there and see what all the fuss is about. Wherever you stand in the Great Golf Debate of 2019, one thing is for certain: You don’t have to be a Tiger Woods wannabe to check ’em out.

The greens in West Seattle, at Beacon Hill’s Jefferson Park, and at Jackson Park in North Seattle all offer traditional courses with 18 holes. The Interbay Golf Center, meanwhile, has a 9-hole par 3 course and driving range — and a mini golf course that’s home to a Putts & Pints summer league.

If your priority is actually just getting some fresh air and socializing — not, you know, golfing — the Green Lake Pitch ‘n’ Putt is the course for you. It’s the type of place where kids are welcome and no one will notice if you completely miss the ball while teeing off. They also rent golf clubs and balls for $1.

Hand-eye coordination not your fore-te? 😉 Jefferson Park’s “foot golf” course combines golf and soccer into a casual activity that’s perfect for catching up with friends. Argyle sweater vests are optional.

His words, not ours...

“One word: local. I have found motivation and comfort in the well-intentioned focus on local topics that I care about. It’s a publication that I can read in the morning, and experience first-hand throughout my day. I love that!” — Mario Sawaya

Road trip: The Oregon Coast

We’re ready to hit the road (again).

Earlier this month we went to Hood Canal to kick off a road trip series with ReachNow, the PNW-based car share company. (BTW, we are still stuffed from the fresh seafood).

For our next adventure, we’ll explore the upper Oregon coast, with a focus on Astoria. Astoria is famous as the town where Goonies was filmed, but there’s plenty to uncover and explore beyond Truffle Shuffle. If you’ve made the trip before, we’d love your suggestions on what to check out.

Wherever you’re headed this summer – ReachNow has several deals for mid-week, weekend, or multi-day trips. New to ReachNow? Download the app and use promo code EVERGRYNOW during registration to waive the one time fee. Already a member? Awesome! Use that code in the promo section of the app for $15 in credit towards your next trip. What are you waiting for? Credit expires 8/4/2019!

One more thing...

Even when you love this city, you might not always love it. Whether it’s the cost of living, the time it takes to get around, or one of a bunch of very Seattle frustrations, there’s plenty to get on your nerves.

So Infatuation Seattle recommends you get something in your stomach. Particularly the food you’ll find on its list of — gasp“Where To Take Someone Who’s Threatening To Leave Seattle.” 😱

Happy eating, folks. We’ll see you Monday.
