Working the land on Seattle Works Day

We got our hands dirty Saturday morning for Seattle Works Day, an annual festival of volunteering projects around the city. A whole bunch of you joined us down in the Duwamish River Valley to help Alleycat Acres prep land in Rainier Beach for a new native plant garden that’s going to make bees and neighbors pretty happy.

We’re sending virtual high-fives to Sylvia Gonzales, Melissa Flesch, Linda Maxson, Toby Miller, Nancy Reichley, Cat Koehn, David Baars, Clare Sayas, Kristin Chan, Gregory Olsen, John Stewart, and Tim Higgins for haulin’ those wheelbarrows all over the place and breaking a sweat with us. That was some good hard work.

More than 850 people volunteered on projects at 62 nonprofit partner sites for Seattle Works Day this year, and we were proud to be a sponsor.
