Support The Evergrey: Become an official member

A lot of you have been asking how you can support The Evergrey so we can keep doing what we do — help you explore your city, understand what’s changing, and discover the communities, people, and perspectives that help you live like you live here.

So today, we are beyond thrilled to invite you to join The Evergrey as an official member.

Membership costs $60 for one year, and you get all kinds of fun perks. Ready to support local journalism that helps you make the most of your city? Here’s what that $60 annual membership will get you:

  • $25 credit each year, good for merch from our store (yup, we’ve got one of those!) and event tickets
  • 10 percent discount on everything in our store
  • 25 percent discount on The Evergrey events
  • Access to submit your events to our website calendar
  • Giveaways and special discounts from local businesses and organizations

Pretty good deal, right? We hope you agree, and join The Evergrey as a supporting member today.

Membership is only one piece of our business model, and we want to tell you more about where we’re headed and how The Evergrey is keeping the lights on.

First things first: The Evergrey is part of a media startup called WhereBy.Us. Two years ago, they launched The New Tropic, a Miami publication with a business model for local journalism that proved profitable within months. You read that right. Months.

Last fall, The Evergrey was born as their first expansion into a new city. Together, we’re creating a sustainable business model to support local journalism across the country. Which is pretty exciting.

We’ve had a great first three months, and we’re grateful to everyone who’s exploring Seattle along with us.

Ideas never run out in this city, and we’re developing projects on everything from Seattle’s growth to the people and communities that give this place its creative, collaborative edge. In the coming months we’ll be using the newsletter, original reporting, multimedia and video, social, and events to explore more of these things with you.

We’ll make some of those projects happen with the support of our sponsors — companies and organizations who care about the city as much as we do. We follow an ethics policy to guide how we develop these partnerships, and we’re excited for what they make possible.

WhereBy.Us also runs a Creative Studio, where their team designs campaigns that help clients reach and engage locals in cities. You can learn more about their work (and how to hire them) here.

We’re excited to keep saying hey in your inbox and grow as a community that loves our city. Thanks for all your support!
