If you regularly make the commute from the Eastside, you might be lucky enough to know Bonnie Robinson, one of the friendliest bus drivers in King County. As a Metro operator, she knows we all have a tough time now and then; Bonnie just wants to make sure yours isn’t on the bus.
But don’t let the stuffed animals and infectious laugh fool you — Bonnie’s no pushover. She’s driven school buses. She’s driven ski buses. And she got her start pulling a “slant load gooseneck horse trailer” with a one-ton pickup truck when she was just 16 years old.
Viadoom may be upon us, but Bonnie might just be the Puget Sound region’s knight in shining armor — she certainly has the horsepower.
Bonnie’s regular route, the 556, crosses the 520 bridge and the Montlake Cut. If you climb aboard, be ready for good views and a friendly conversation.
