👢 Line dancing, Pride skate, and 22 more things to do this week

Can we expect a great spinning turkey for Thanksgiving? Thanks for tagging us in the festive fun, Jen.

Let’s get together

The struggles of dating in Seattle are a favorite complaint among Seattle’s young people, but finding love can be even trickier for those over 40.

This month, we’re doing something a bit different with our Modern Love dating game show and tailoring it to a more mature crowd.

Are you single, in your 40s or 50s, and ready to mingle? We’re still searching for contestants for the Nov. 13 event. We can promise a night of fun and laughter for all our participants, and who knows — maybe you’ll end up meeting your soul mate. 💕

Apply to be a contestant here, and don’t forget to snag your event tickets before we sell out.

Monday spotlight: Meet Tammi Doyle

Shout out to new members Marit J., Katayoon D., Pamela W., John E., Alex W., Matt K., Christine T., Haley T., Jose F., Julia C., Mila L., and Louise L.! And now we’re continuing our series on the people who make what we do possible — our lovely members. ❤️ Next up from West Seattle is Tammi Doyle

Where in town might people run into you?

The theater — almost any theatre in the area. Cactus on Alki for a drink and app to watch the sun go down. Ferry to Vashon or Bainbridge just to ride. Lincoln Park to walk. The Beveridge Place, Slap Stick, Rhein Haus — all to play games while drinking beer!

What made you decide to become a member of The Evergrey?

I found that I was reading it every morning and wanted to support all your work!

What’s something you’re working — in big ways or small — that you could use help with?

Developing affordable rental space for performances of all kinds, for both rehearsal and performance. TPS (Theatre Puget Sound) does a great job but we need more!

And a first-world problem but … more dog parks in Seattle.

What local business do you think deserves a shoutout (and why)?

The West Seattle Senior Center. I’m not there yet 🙂 but they do great things for members and community.

What’s a local event you went to recently that you loved?

Arts in Nature at Camp Long and Beer Fun at Lagunitas Tap Room.

What’s a recent story you’ve read about Seattle that you wish more people cared about (and why)?

People do care, but — what happens to the people who live in the tent cities when they are gone? Along the I-5 to I-90 interchange — where are they?

If Seattle had ___________, you’d feel complete.

I feel pretty complete. I love this city. I love things around this city. I moved up from San Francisco (a GREAT city!) in 1984 and decided to stay — it’s a great place to raise kids. I still think so, although the home rental/purchase prices are making me sad.

Hands-down, your favorite restaurant in town?

Bizzarro in Wallingford.

What are you celebrating in your life right now?

Happy, successful adult children.
